The Print House is located within walking distance to the Town Centre where you can find an excellent choice of restaurants, pubs and clubs. The Print House is a great base for business or leisure travelers on a budget, with many tourist attractions within close proximity. The Great Central Railway, Bradgate Park, Beacon Hill, Alton Towers and Drayton Manor Theme Parks, Taylors Bell Foundry, Carillon War Memorial and War Museum and Donington Park Motor Racing Track to name a few are all within easy access of Loughborough. | | Directions | 1. Directions from the town centre Loughborough town centre is defined by the market square, in the centre of which lies a statue of ‘the sock man’, which in turn is outside the Town Hall. If you stand facing the town hall, turn right and walk towards ‘Reel Cinema’. Pass the cinema on your left. Shortly after this point you will reach ‘Showboat Arcade’, again on your left. Turn left here. After around 50 yards you will see the Printhouse on your right. This walk will take 3 – 5 minutes.
2. Airport Bus The airport bus is called the Skylink and runs from East Midlands Airport to Loughborough Train Station. The bus stop is immediately outside of departures at the airport and is well marked. You can also get the Rainbow 5 bus from the same stop, a bus that will also take you to Loughborough. This service is hourly but does not run on Sundays or public holidays and takes much longer than the Skylink. The Skylink is a 24/7 service. Whichever bus you choose, ask for a ticket to Loughborough and get off on Baxter Gate. As you step off the bus, walk to the left towards ‘Lloyds TSB’, which is on a t-junction. When facing ‘Lloyds TSB’, turn left and walk along that side of the road. You will pass ‘Vice Versa’ and the ‘Ramada Jarvis Hotel’. When you reach a crossroads, with ‘Geoff’s Toys’ on your right, take a right turn and walk for 200 yards. The Printhouse will be on your right. This walk will take 3 – 5 minutes.
3.Train Station If you are travelling from the train station after having got the skylink, you can get on any bus from the stop immediately outside the station entrance to get to the town centre. All of these buses will drop you outside ‘Vice Versa’ and opposite ‘Argos’. When getting off the bus, stay on that side of the road and walk with the buildings on your right, back up to ‘Geoff’s Toys’. Here, turn right, walk 200 yards and the Printhouse will be on your right. This walk will take 1 – 2 minutes.
4. Walking from the train station Upon exiting the train station, there is one road that leads away from it towards a set of traffic lights. Follow this road up, going straight over at the lights. This will take you uphill along Nottingham Road. As you get towards Loughborough, the road veers to the left slightly. You will pass ‘Beacon Bingo’ on your right. At this point Nottingham Road turns to the right. Do not follow it. Instead, cross over the road and continue walking in a straight line, along a row of bus stops and buses. At the end of this row is a t-junction, with ‘Lloyds TSB’ facing you. This walk will take 15 – 20 minutes. | | Transportation | Airport Bus The airport bus is called the Skylink and runs from East Midlands Airport to Loughborough Train Station. Train
Taxis A taxi from the airport will usually cost around £20, though this can vary depending on the time of day. If you are landing at the airport, there is a taxi service based in the arrivals lounge. This is the only taxi service allowed to reside and do business within the airport. As such, there prices can be rather excessive. If you wish to book your own taxi with a different company, they can pick you up from the car park opposite the arrivals lounge. It will take them at least 20 minutes to get to you from Loughborough so it is advisable to book in advance of your trip. | | Airport | East Midlands Airport 10 Miles |
